Whilst out in the garden on Sunday Philip Pleaching our hedge and me digging an old border over, Philip commented that we are having a 'proper' winter, with which I had to agree. Cold snaps, frost and snow. Not too much rain, and now warmer spring days to look forward to.
We already have about 200 lambs on the farm from our 2 early lambing bouts, and several calves.
Out Latest Tb test last week revealed we have 2 inconclusive so we are still under TB restrictions, and are to test again in 60 days.
Our Bull and 2 of the cattle slaughtered after the last TB test showed visible lesions on their lungs at the post mortem. we suspect that as we have complied with all the movement legislation, and our herd was TB clear at the beginning of the summer, that the summer out with the Badgers has reinfected the herd - what else can it be?
